The Stanleys

Since making their live debut in LA in July 2011, Perth’s The Stanleys have been wooing worldwide audiences with their trademark blend of crunchy power pop. They’ve graced stages in North America, Europe, China and Japan playing numerous international festivals, crazy college frat parties and sweaty pubs and clubs around the world.

The Stanleys launch their bubblegum punk flavoured single “Amy” (released via Sweden’s Beluga Records on limited edition pink, blue, green and black 7” vinyl) with a vibrant and fun video featuring burlesque dancer Tahlia Russell, directed by Johnny Ma and filmed on Fitzgerald St, North Perth just metres away from the Rosemount Hotel.

Previewing songs from their forthcoming self-titled album, this is a rare chance to see the band on an Australian stage before they head back to Europe and the USA for a big run of dates. Don’t miss out!

The Plastic Attraction

Indie/pop rock band, The Plastic Attraction, released their first two singles over the past year – “Holding You” and “No Foresight”. The singles from this 5 piece outfit were met with critical acclaim by radio stations, blogs and the band members’ parents. Sounds of Oz reported that the band had “hit a home run with its debut single” and Eat Sleep Breathe Music praised the band’s music, saying “…you are instantly attracted to their 90s vibe”.

Now, with an EP on the horizon, The Plastic Attraction are set to release their third single – “Shifting in Degrees”. The track is a tale of change and growing up and realising that while you used to click with your other half, you don’t anymore. It’s these tones of sadness against a backdrop of danceable instrumentation and an earworm chorus which makes this single the band’s strongest release yet.

“Shifting in Degrees” was recorded by Tristan Sturmer at Sumo Sound Studios (Sparrow, Verge Collection, Make Way For Man), mixed by Andy Lawson at Debaser Studios (Tired Lion, Eskimo Joe) and mastered by mastering legend William Bowden at King Willy Sound (Gotye, Bluejuice, Ball Park Music).
