Perth’s Petticoat Junkyard release their debut self-titled album on Saturday 28 October at the Rosemount Hotel’s 459 Bar, with support from friends Jeff Strong and Big Orange, plus sets from DJ Bonnie Rock.
Channelling Old Alt Country just as hard as they can, Petticoat Junkyard are convinced there is yet more to milk from the legacy of the Carter Family, Gram Parsons, Loretta Lynn and Buddy Williams. Something vital, unapologetic, catchy and brash. If “Parton-esque” was a word, and it probably should be, that would be their foremost vibe.
Fronted by singer song-writer Nici Blue Eyes, bassed by Sarah Norton, drummed by Adem K and guitared by Joe Bludge, it is fair to say that a decent flow of musical water has passed under Petticoat Junkyard’s collective backwater bridge.
