Georgia Reed is returning to the spotlight with her intimate new single “The Fear”. Taking her songwriting in a new direction, Reed’ s dynamic introspective masterpiece is a sign of maturation and growing up. The song is deeply personal and addresses issues she has previously been too shy to speak about.
Of the single, Reed says, “The Fear is about this feeling I have had all my life of not belonging, of not really fitting in. I have always felt different to those around me, hence the lyrics ‘ we are not the same’. It’ s such an awkward thing to talk about, so I’ve never really spoken about it much, and I decided I would write about it instead.”
Following her acclaimed singles “Waiting For You To Run” and “Helen”, Reed received great support with airplay on Triple J and a sold out home town show. Now, the songstress is ready to take the musical world by storm once again.
Best known for her signature smoky vocals, her latest single evolves into a more mature, yet slightly mysterious sound. Drawing on a well of influences and personal experiences to give her emotions a voice, this single is sure to resonate with listeners.
“When you’ re feeling angry, frustrated, or sad, sometimes you just want to listen to something that matches that emotion, and I hope that this can fulfil that.” – Georgia Reed
