Inceptive Concepts proudly presents: 15 YEARS OF DISPATCH RECORDINGS. Featuring: ANT TC1 (UK), CERN (NZ), SAFIRE (Melb) with support from EYESDOWN. ANT TC1: along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992). His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder. After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music. Fast forward to 2015 and Ant is now responsible for the label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings. Having released a compilation series on Dispatch, the hugely successful “Transit One” & “Transit Two” albums (topping almost all the usual stores weekly dance music sales charts across all formats), the label features a fine list of consistently quality single and EP releases from the likes of DLR, Break, Survival & Silent Witness, Marcus Intalex, Klute, Nymfo, AI, Zero T, Cern, Dabs, Skeptical, Dub Phizix, himself (and many more). Ant has recently remixed material for the likes of Cern & Dabs, Sunchase, Quadrant & Iris, Friske as well as having his own solo work remixed by Xtrah along with working on further collabs with the likes of Survival & DLR. Ant is also the head of Artist Management at both Outlook & Dimensions Festivals, playing a pivotal role in bringing consistently strong Drum & Bass acts to the Croatia every year, earning back to back 2013 & 2014 “Best Festival” accolades in both the Festival Awards & the Drum & Bass Arena annual awards. CERN: Over the past decade, NZ native Cern has entrenched himself as a strong presence in the global drum and bass scene, proving his skills in the studio are matched by his selection in the club. Since his first release in 2008, Cern has amassed a long list of standout releases on heavyweight labels including Project 51, Renegade Hardware, Dispatch Recordings, Samurai Music and Commercial Suicide and has shared his intricate mixing style with crowds throughout the UK, Europe and Oceania.
Following his full-length album ‘Terminus’ in 2011, Cern’s production skills have broadened to encompass dance floor destroyers like the remix of ‘Back in the Grind’ for Octane & DLR (with Dabs), the head-nodding atmospheric subtleties of ‘Apparition’ featured on ‘Way of the Samurai’, to the 97’esque ‘Raven Row’.
Heading into 2013, Cern’s sonic expansion has continued, with outings on the Renegade Hardware V/A Limber EP, a 12″ for Dispatch (‘Pinch Me / Hollow Moon’) featuring his third collaboration with Sabre, a track with Dabs for Dispatch and ‘Tidal’ with J.Robinson for Tribe 12. Coming next is his solo EP for Renegade Hardware, a track on Samurai’s experimental sister label Horo and further beats to come on Cylon & a collab with Loxy for Xtinction Audio.
SAFIRE: Safire is regarded as one of Australia’s finest Drum and Bass artists moving from strength to strength over the last couple of years with most recent signings to Noisia’s ‘Invisible recordings’, Friction’s ‘Shogun Limited’ & Dispatch Recordings. Safire has been moulding his craft for the past eight years whilst running the long-standing night ‘Broken Beat Assault’ orchestrating the highest quality DnB events in Melbourne & most recently setting up his own label ‘Plasma Audio’ launched at the beginning of 2014 featuring some of dnb’s top producers
Collaborating with a number of well-known producers such as Icicle, Sabre, DLR, Cern & Dabs. His deep, techy tunes have been gaining well-deserved recognition across the dnb landscape Upcoming releases include tracks on Shogun Ltd, Invisible, Plasma Audio & Dispatch Recordings. 2014 has seen Safire play shows throughout Europe including Outlook Festival, London & Amsterdam.
